Shandong to lower ticket prices of 137 scenic spots

Starting from June 1 to September 30, Shandong province in east China, which boasts rich scenery and cultural sites, will substantially lower the ticket prices of 137 historic and scenic spots by at least 50 percent, according to an announcement jointly issued by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Department of Finance.

The discounts extend to 137 state-owned A-level tourist attractions in the province, including 12 national 5A scenery sites such as Mount Tai in Tai’an, the Confucius Temple in Qufu, and Laoshan Mountain in Qingdao. Admission ticket to these scenic spots will be offered at a half price, with an exception on weekends and legal holidays.

The announcement also introduced waiver or preferential policy for special groups like children, students, seniors, military personnel, and high-level talents.
